Engineering / IT Assistant

GENERAL PURPOSE AND SCOPE OF POSITION:
Assist chief engineer in the daily maintenance and support of broadcast related equipment and computers in a broadcast environment. This is an entry level position.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
1. Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair local computer infrastructure to include local area network, on-air automation system, e-mail, and office workstations.
2. Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair studio, transmitter, tower and antenna systems to assure compliance with FCC regulations.
3. Assist with repair and maintenance of other in-house systems and equipment as necessary.
4. Helping to use company technology resources efficiently and effectively.
5. Assist with technical needs at station and client remote broadcasts.
6. Use a variety of hand tools, power tools, electronic test equipment, follow wiring diagrams, schematics, technical specifications and troubleshoot defective equipment and components.
7. Flexible schedule to include work outside of normal business hours and be on call.
8. Perform other duties as determined by Station General Manager or Chief Engineer.
9. Valid drivers license with a clean driving record.
EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:
1. Strong networking and computer skills required including Microsoft Windows (XP, Vista, 7, and Server 2003)
2. Good administrative and interpersonal skills.
3. Good work ethic, grasp of business basics and flexible personality.
4. College graduate preferred.
